this single file, unzip it into a temporary directory and run Setup to

Microsoft® Windows® 95 or higher.

The
following files are self-extracting executables that contain compressed
setup files that must be extracted to each of the diskettes.
Download each zip file
to a temporary directory (might be labeled disk1 for file SMIDISK1, and
disk2 for SMIDISK2,...) for all six files into your hard disk and unzip
each file with WINZIP for each file in that directory. When you are prompted
for a folder to unzip to, for each extracting file, insert a blank
diskette and press enter to copy the setup files to the diskette. Once
all six diskettes are ready, you can install SMI on any computer.
Insert the first diskette into the floppy drive and run setup.exe by
clicking on the Start button and selecting Run. Then type a:\setup and
press enter to begin the installation. Follow the installation
instructions. You must reboot before running SMI.

If you don't have WinZip,
you can download it for free!
The following are just a few of the SMI program's many functions:
Perfectly
Tune Your SmartMotor™
A Tools menu is available with a communications and tuning utility. The
Tuner is used to optimize the Servo response of the SmartMotor. Set your
own PID tuning parameters and plot the step response. The SmartMotor User's Guide has some very helpful
information that makes it an easy task to optimize the SmartMotor's PID
filter.
Monitor SmartMotors
The SmartMotor Interface has special user-defined polling features to
conveniently monitor important functions. Monitor different status bits,
variables, and I/O from any motor in a chain, even while your application
runs.
Write, Compile and Download Programs
The interface is divided into a terminal window to communicate directly
to the motor and a program window to write, compile and download
programs. It can open multiple windows for program editing, instantly
address multiple motors, and upload programs from motors.
Get Assistance Using On-Line Help
An extensive Help section is available with a getting started tutorial, program examples, and a language
tutorial.
